Favorites in Skincare

These are my skincare MUST Haves. Mind you, I have acne-prone skin so these may not suit everyone. But they really help to keep my skin looking as flawless as possible. What I did not list {and ALWAYS use} is a daily light-weight, oil-control SPF moisturizer. The reason it is not on the list is because I still have not landed my perfect find yet. I have faith it is out there though!

1. The Clairisonic! Best purchase ever. I use the Mia 2. This amazing tool exfoliates like no other and is always a part of my nightly routine. I have had it for over 2 years and can noticeably tell a difference in the texture and tone of my skin. It really pulls out the deep dirt, make-up and dead skin. Yes it is pricey {Mia 2 is $149}, but break that out to using daily for 2 & 1/2 years…that’s less than 16 cents a day!

2. Rx Retin-A. This one takes a little work and is definitely pricey. But this is a miracle cream for acne and anti-aging. You do need a prescription for it and depending on your insurance, it can get very pricey {for me, it is $300 a tube}. But the good news is you don’t have to use it everyday to reap the benefits. I use a small pea-size dollop twice a week at night. This tube will last me at least a year. Retin-A is a formula that makes your cells turn-over faster, which is why you sometimes peel if you use too much. You need to be patient with this miracle cream 🙂

3. Obagi Clenziderm Facial Cleanser. You can just feel it tingling and working its magic when you apply this {its the calming menthol in it which gives it the tingle factor}. I typically use this at night and massage it into my skin and finish by using the Clarisonic with it. With 2% salicylic acid, it really helps to keep acne at bay.

4. Dr. Bonner Tea Tree Castile Liquid Soap. The best body cleanser ever! I am obsessed with the experience of using this soap. It just makes you feel squeaky clean and ever-so soft. The all-natural ingredients and Tea Tree Oil have a lovely fresh smell as well. Dr. Bonner Magic Soaps also come in a variety of scents such as Lavender and Peppermint {and actually use those ingredients}. I am always stocked with a 32. oz. bottle {$17.99} in our shower.

5. Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 CC Eye Cream. I live by eye cream. Besides cleaning off my make-up, it is the one thing I never skip; morning and night. This is the part of the face that ages the quickest. Not to mention, your eyes just look brighter and softer when using eye cream in your daily routine. I know there are higher-end eye creams out there, but I have found this one to work magic at only around $25 so why change?

6. Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Skin Toner Liquid. I just feel this goes the extra mile in removing the impurities from your skin each night. I don’t feel like my nightly routine is complete unless I use this before hitting the sack. It is such a good deal at only $7.99. For me, there is no need to buy an expensive toner when this works to really give a final deep clean to my skin.

7. It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+. OH. MY. GOSH! This is technically a make-up but I don’t even consider it to be that. It is a skincare and make-up miracle worker! I just started to use this in January and I am absolutely hooked. The high SPF protects your skin, it covers flaws flawlessly, it’s non greasy and super light-weight and it contains a complex anti-aging/hydrating formula. The perfect product! I buy it in the medium shade from Ulta for $38 a tube. It is already March and I am pretty sure I still have another month with this tube. I also bought the application brush {$24} and I use the Bye Bye Pores Silk HD Anti-Aging Micro Powder {$24} to top it off. I am really thrilled I discovered this line!
